The original building of Whitebull Hotel was constructed in 1876 and the hotel was called initially The Robert Burns Hotel (after the Scottish poet, who wrote Auld Lang Syne). Then from 1878 until 1888 the business went under the ‘imaginative’ name of Armidale No. 2. From 1889 it was called The Club Hotel, and in 2006 it was reborn … Whitebull Hotel.

The extensive renovation of 2005-06 deliberately retained some of the fine characteristics of the classical building and times. The façade is a good example of this as the renovation made sure the Flemish bond brickwork is still revealed to the public, and it beautifully displays the famous Armidale Blue bricks, surrounded by white mortar.
